Eumundi Body Art Carnivale 2011

The Body Art Theme was MAGIC!

This iconic symbol of the modern magician, pulling a white rabbit from his hat was created by Aberdeenshire born John Henry Anderson in 1726. His trick was based on the bizarre story of Mary Toft, a woman who allegedly gave birth to 17 rabbits! He use to quip no sooner could a woman give birth to a rabbit than I could pul one from my hat and he would produce a white fluffy rabbit!

One of the most ancient mythological beasts, the Unicorn is a symbol of innocence, purity, healing, joy and life. The modern image of the unicorn is  that of a white horse differing only in the horn. The traditional unicorn has a billy-goat beard, a lion's tail, and cloven hooves, which distinguish him from a horse.
